Remove Interoperability Barriers

We're living in a post-PC world. Your end users want access to their data and their applications when and where they want. And you need to keep everything secure even though you have no control over what they do or how they do it. We can help.

EXO U offers unified Mobile Enterprise Management software: a single solution that addresses an enterprise's Mobile Application Management (MAM) and Mobile Application Development Platform (MADP) needs. We simplify the management of the entire application lifecycle by handling the security and the ins and outs of the myriad of devices and operating systems available today. We put your focus back on your end users and not on their devices. We know your end users have high expectations and that you get one chance to win their hearts. We want you to succeed.

Application Management

Keeping employees productive and happy in today's post-PC world is a tall order for enterprise IT. When employees run into problems, you have to troubleshoot where the fault lies—the application, an employee's device, or something else. And, you cannot even assume what device an employee is using or whether it has all of the latest updates installed. With EXO U, we streamline the development and upkeep of corporate applications for you.

EXO U's workflow and approval process gives you the ability to easily manage applications and deliver them in a timely fashion to the right employees. Our versioning and auto-update system ensures employees have instant access to any updates of the EXO U solution as well as of corporate applications. No more guessing to determine what software an end user is running.

Through the Application Store, you have a centralized means of storing, organizing and grouping, and creating and enforcing application policies. With a few mouse clicks and completely without active end user involvement, you can upload new application versions, push those updates to some or all end user devices—based on access policies—and remove old applications and/or those out of compliance. You're now able to manage your entire application lifecycle remotely.

Using the Management Console, you can:

  • Manage employees, including creating end users, editing user information, creating user groups, and/or deleting end users.
  • Manage applications, including assigning categories for applications, identifying who needs the application, and/or specifying whether applications are required or optional, or whitelist/blacklist applications.
  • Create policies to manage employee access to specific application versions and resources.

Application Factory

We reduce the risks associated with new applications through pre-designed templates provided in our Application Factory to ease development and content integration. The Application Factory increases the odds that your employees will stick with your corporate applications.

With Application Factory, developers have tools available for more easily and quickly creating compelling applications that win over employees and empower them to communicate their best ideas across all their devices, whether mobile or desktop. Anyone with access to the Application Factory, developers as well as non-technical line of business employees, can build an application. When done, developers submit their completed applications to you. You're then able to review and test the applications before widespread release. Approved applications are published through the Application Store.

Third-Party Extenders Integration

EXO U integrates access of leading data systems such as SAP, IBM, or Oracle. By extending these data interfaces into our solution, developers can more easily and quickly create extensible and customized business-specific applications, reducing the risks and investment required in building applications from scratch.

EXO U provides an Application Store, to deploy, manage, and use applications for developers, administrators, and end users. Developers submit completed projects to the Application Store for review, testing, and approval.

Once applications are submitted, you can test, approve, and publish them into the Application Store thereby making these applications available for the appropriate end users. This workflow ensures that you are able to manage application deployment. As new versions of applications come available, with our versioning and auto-update system, you can ensure end users are in immediate compliance with the supported application versions and install the appropriate updates without requiring your end users to do anything.

When developers use the Application Factory to build applications, they consider security from the start and build it in. With EXO U:

  • All application data – both at rest and in motion – is securely encrypted.
  • Applications within Collaborative Workspaces securely connect over the Internet to access important corporate information and files. This encrypted connection excludes other applications on the device from accessing the tunnel and secures the data in transit from being accessed as it traverses the Internet.
  • Data leakage can be prevented through security policies. Developers, for example, can disable copy and paste as well as save actions that might permit applications outside the Collaborative Workspace to access the information.

Collaborative Workspaces

We realize that inspiration can strike employees anywhere, anytime. With Collaborative Workspaces you no longer have to worry about employees resorting to creative workarounds to collaborate, passing around USB storage devices or using personal applications such as Google Drive or Dropbox to pass and share data and files with coworkers seated next to them.

We give you the ability to let employees choose where and how they work, at their desk on a computer, in line at the deli on a specific mobile device, or somewhere else. And, transparent to employees, at the same time we give you enterprise-grade security to protect their ideas and data whether at rest or in motion.

Employee-to-Employee Collaboration

Collaborative Workspaces make communicating and sharing among coworkers simple and secure in both network-restricted and remote environments as well as with or without an Internet connection. By not getting in the way of what employees want to do

Inter-Application Communication

We streamline employee workflows, allowing applications to share information and files among other applications within the Collaborative Workspace in accordance with your corporate policy. For example, employees can always open a Word document within Google Docs or MSFT Office 365, but not in Dropbox. No longer do employees need to leave one application to open another to act on content they received in another application.

Collaborative Workspaces make communicating and sharing among coworkers simple and secure in both network-restricted and remote environments as well as with or without an Internet connection. By not getting in the way of what employees want to do, sensitive information stays within the workspace rather than strewn across USB storage devices or personal applications such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Employees can create on demand or instant meeting groups where they develop projects together, storing, sharing, and editing necessary documents together. The documents are encrypted within the workspace as well as when they go back and forth among the coworkers. Jointly created documents can be synchronized across all participants and devices. Offline support ensures that this collaboration can happen even without Internet connectivity.

Inter-Device Collaboration

The Collaborative Workspace enables employees to work on a project across their devices, starting on one device and moving to another device, with or without an Internet connection. Synchronization ensures that the most current data moves with them.

Workspace Synchronization

The Collaborative Workspace ensures employees always have their content and applications at their fingertips, irrespective of the device, whether a corporate asset, a personal device, or a publicly shared computer. The Collaborative Workspace separates corporate data and applications from personal data and applications enabling you to centrally manage security and compliance policies.

Synchronization ensures that the most current data moves with them. In the absence of an Internet connection, synchronization can occur when individual devices are connected. The Collaborative Workspace looks first for nearby devices authorized to the employee and checks whether the workspace has changed. The workspace will also look at nearby corporate devices, allowing an employee to collaborate with colleagues on the go

When connected to the Internet, corporate policies are pushed to the client and enforced in real time. New available whitelisted applications appear without hassle. Blacklisted applications likewise disappear effortlessly. This auto update ensures that an employee's workspace is consistent from device to device and follows her and provides offline access to applications and data in between Internet connections. In case of device failure or loss, synchronization ensures that employees can recover the data and applications from their Collaborative Workspace.

Security

We know that to keep corporate secrets secret you need to start with your organization's greatest risk: employees. Even if your organization's employees are the exception – they always follow rules – mistakes can happen no matter how diligent they are about security. With each hurdle placed between them and your corporate data you exponentially increase the likelihood that mistakes will happen. We keep personal and corporate applications separate and provide built-in security. We eliminate the potential that sensitive information might go astray.

Restricted Access to Data and Applications

With EXO U, you can set policies per employee, department, or adhoc taskforce. EXO U's integration with Active Directory allows you to map privileges against the corporate directory, ensuring only current employees and/or contractors have access to their Collaborative Workspace

Native VPN (virtual private network) functionality allows firewall traversal with enterprise-grade security and reliability for end users while they are remote. You're able to rely on your proven VPN infrastructure, rather than deploy special purpose and stand alone security equipment. This lets you quickly deploy mobile and remote users and deliver hassle free, remote secure access for them. You can also use your internal corporate directory service to handle authentication and permissions –another benefit that is transparent to end users.

With EXO U, connectivity and sessions are encrypted by HTTPS or VPN:

  • SSL/HTTPS point to point encryption
  • VPN encryption for firewall traversal that adds IPSEC encryption from container to corporate network (encrypted packets through Internet)

The Collaborative Workspace keeps all corporate applications and data separate from the employee's personal data and applications. Within that workspace, applications and data are containerized and encrypted. In the event a computer is stolen or a device is lost, you can perform a selective or full remote wipe of the Collaborative Workspace or of the device itself and/or decommission the device.

Day to day, the built in policy-based security of the Collaborative Workspace addresses what employees can and cannot do with the corporate data and applications within that workspace:

  • An application update policy requires that applications be updated at a set interval.
  • An offline policy, that works even when disconnected, limits how long applications and data can be functional before they need to re-establish a connection to the Application Factory, ensuring that rarely used devices are always in compliance.
  • Optional policies can prevent copy-paste from within the Collaborative Workspace to files or applications outside it.

The Collaborative Workspace provides additional features for protecting corporate data, such as:

  • Secure browser and data sharing
  • Asymmetric encryption that protects communications between the device and the EXO U server or between devices
